The minutes from the PhD forum on 30.09.14. was presented and approved.
News from the study administration:
In 2014: Two meetings in the PhD forum. Three PhD defences (Johanna Hovinen, Jeff Holmes and Daniel Vogedes).
In 2015: Planning on 10 PhD defences.
Since last meeting, four new PhD candidates are welcomed at UNIS:

Wesley Farnsworth (AG-dept)
Maja Karoline Hatlebakk (AB-dept)
Matteo Petit Bon who is soon to arrive (AB-dept)

Ingrid Vinje (HR) informed, and led an informative discussion regarding i.e.
Differences in employment contracts between permanent staff and PhD candidates
Housing
Leaves / prolongation of contract period
Travel / vacations
Pension rights
If there are issues to address, the PhD candidates are encouraged to address this as a group in writing to the UNIS leadership.
Next meeting
Next PhD forum is planned in April 2015.
