The minutes from the PhD forum on 24.05.13. was presented and approved.
News from the study administration:
Since last PhD forum, UNIS has got three new PhD candidates; Eli Anne Ersdal at the AGF- department, as well as Mark Joseph Mulrooney and Oscar Jacob Fransner from the AG- department. Unfortunately, none of these could attend the PhD forum today.
There will be three PhD defences at the AT-department this autumn; Aleksey Shestov on 3 October, Louis Delmas on 9 October, and Pernilla Carlsson probably in late November.

• Our PhD candidates have not received any information regarding the progress reporting, but did report this spring. Anne will find out more about this.
– UiT (BFE Faculty):
• Annual progress reports: 1 October
• The BFE faculty have asked if UNIS candidates receive the “all BFE-
faculty” e-mails, which they don’t. This will be reported back to the faculty.
– NTNU (Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology)
• New contact person at the faculty: Elin Steen (elin.steen@ntnu.no)
• Annual progress reports: 15 February.
• The UNIS candidates reports a lack of communication between them and NTNU.
– UMB
• Annual progress reports: 1 November.

Discussion of article drafts
Anne Elina Flink had prior to the meeting sent an article draft she will submit to Polar Research.
The article was discussed.
Aleksey Shestov also presented some figures that was discussed.
Next meeting
