1- O tratamento com o antidepressivo cloridrato de fluoxetina causou redução do peso corpóreo dos animais, bem como alterações significantes nos túbulos seminíferos e nos níveis séricos de testosterona;

2- As alterações estruturais dos túbulos seminíferos, incluindo a morte das células germinativas, associadas à redução na frequência de túbulos em estágios VII-VIII (andrógeno-dependentes), podem ter sido decorrentes da redução nos níveis séricos de testosterona nos ratos tratados com fluoxetina;

3- O tratamento com fluoxetina também causou morte das células de Sertoli e, consequentemente, redução significante no número destas células por túbulo seminífero. Tais alterações podem estar direta ou indiretamente relacionadas à redução nos níveis séricos de testosterona.
