Foreword for Special Section

The Spanish Conference on Computer Graphics (CEIG) is an annual event sponsored by the Spanish Section of the Eurographics Association. The goal of the conference is to promote discussion between researchers and practitioners of Computer Graphics and related areas in Spain, to disseminate recent advances in the field, and to present and discuss ongoing work. The conference includes regular paper sessions, invited talks presenting high-quality recent work, short paper, and poster presentations, and keynote talks from internationally renowned speakers in all areas of visual computing.

The 29th edition of CEIG was organized by Vicomtech, and held in Donostia/San Sebastian (Spain), from June 26-28, 2019. The conference received 20 full paper and 8 short paper submissions, from which 13 were accepted as full papers, and 9 were accepted as short papers. From the 13 full papers we, together with the advice of last year’s CEIG’18 Program Chairs (Prof. Carlos Ureña and Prof. Ignacio García- Fernandez), selected the 5 best papers to appear in a Special Section in the journal Computers & Graphics, which underwent a second review cycle.

We want to thank the authors who prepared and submitted their work, the many reviewers that evaluated these submissions, and the coordination and reviewing work put in by all our colleagues who accepted to serve on the International Program Committee. Without any of them, CEIG would not happen.

We would also like to thank the invited speakers, Prof. Lourdes Agapito (UCL), Dr. Carlos Venegas (Bright Machines), and Prof. Pablo Artal (Universidad de Murcia) for accepting our invitations, and mak- ing time in their schedules for delivering very exciting talks about a diversity of topics. We would like to thank the local organizers, led by Dr. Jorge Posadas (Vicomtech), Prof. Alex García-Alonso (EHU-UPV), and Prof. Luis Matey (CEIG), for the organization of all logistic aspects of the conference. Finally, we want to thank the members of the executive board of Eurographics Spanish Section for inviting us to serve as Program Co-Chairs for this year’s CEIG.
