Preface
These proceedings contain the Short Papers and Medical Prize Award Papers for Eurographics 2007, the 28th Conference of the European Association for Computer Graphics, held at the buildings of the Czech Technical University in Prague, The Czech Republic, between the 3rd and the 7th of September 2007.
The EG Short Presentations were first introduced at Eurographics 1998 as a forum for presenting new ideas, late-breaking results and work in progress in a reduced length format. This year, authors present their work in a 10 minute talk at one of the three parallel short paper sessions and additionally as a poster at the Poster & Beer Party, where the papers can be discussed in an informal atmosphere. This year the attendees of the party will select the best poster by a public voting.
The short papers are archived in the Eurographics Digital Library and are considered a peer reviewed publication. We received a total of 70 submissions out of which 29 were chosen for publication after a thorough review process, where each paper was reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant areas. A number of high-quality submissions could unfortunately not be included due to space and time limitations but we would like to thank all the authors for their valuable contribution to the program. We would also like to express our gratitude to all the reviewers, the session chairs, and especially to Stefanie Behnke and the EG Support Team as well as the staff at CTU Prague for all their help during the submission and review process.
The Medical Prize Award Papers present the work of the winners of the Eurographics 2007 Medical Prize competition, which is the third competition since 2003. This biannual prize acknowledges the contri- bution of computer graphics to the medical field and were selected from 11 high-quality submissions. The three winners will present their work during the award ceremony on Friday, September 7th. We would like to thank all contributers for their contributions, the award committee, the EG Publication Team, and the staff at CTU Prague, in particular Daniel Sykora for setting up the submission system.
We hope that you will enjoy this year’s program and we look forward to seeing you all at the Party.
