PKP Accessibility Interest Group (AIG)

PKP Accessibility Interest Groupwas formed in Spring 2020. It aims to:

1. Keep stakeholders updated on the accessibility work done and/or planned at PKP

2. Solicit and direct community contributions towards PKP efforts through testing and documentation

3. Educate the community through documentation and resources

4. Advocate for change

Some of the PKP AIG projects include:

● Accessibility-related PKP news updates

● Recruitment of assistive technology users for OJS UX testing

● Alt text remediation in PKP Docs Hub together with the Documentation Interest Group

Accessibility of OJS platform

• PKP Accessibility Github Project - completed and open tickets from the accessibility audit of the Default theme

• PKP Accessibility Statement for Default Theme in OJS 3.3

• Improving submission wizard accessibility and usability -

a Github issue with mockups and discussion of proposed

redesign

Creating Accessible Content: A Guide for Editors and Authors - a resource prepared by the AIG

Future AIG projects include an accessibility

workshop/webinar and a PKP School course on

accessibility for content creators.
