It is mandatory to register for staff, students and visiting scholars who:
• Is or may be exposed to carcinogenic or mutagenic chemicals (Carc. 1A, Carc. 1B Muta. 1A or Muta. 1B).

SOP (standard operation procedure) - procedure description with SJA shall be made in advance of the work.
Then a risk assessment of chemicals with help of SDS should be performed before start of the lab work. The risk assessment should reveal how chemicals are used, in what concentration, time and duration. In view of this risk assessment, the exposure should be registered in EcoExposure – the electronic register via
Ecoonline -substance archive.
The wording of the regulation makes it difficult to rule out exposure while working with carcinogenic or mutagenic chemicals (CLP H statements H340, H350 and H350i).
One can be exposed:
• Even while working with personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Even while working in / with special ventilation
• When making other handling procedures of predefined substances, such as: refueling of transport vehicles.
