Opportunities

We need to develop new and innovative tools to build

attractive and sustainable (economically/socially/ecologically) urban centres

We want to strengthen the connection between City and Hinterland in order to reestablish functioning ecological cycles

We need to find ways to build denser and to avoid using valuable farm land

We will continue to prioritize bicyclists, pedestrians and public transport.

We want to learn how to shape circular flows using new, innovative business models and green & clean goods and services in order to increase the quality of life for the citizens

We are interested in smart city solutions and the potential that digitalization offers in the effort to shape a truly

sustainable city.

The Way Forward –

as we in Lund see it

• Great need to invest in buildings and infrastructure

• Financing of ”green projects” within the fields of renewable energy, energy-efficient buildings and sustainable transports

• Increases transparancy into the environmental/sustainabilty work and investments of the City of Lund. The City must report its ”green investments” and their results in letters to the investors etc.

The first green bond of the City of Lund

• Issued in May: Total investment volume: SEK 750 million

• Great interest from investors resulted in advantageous

conditions

• Creating new, common processes for the Nordic town twinning co-operation

• Furthering the interaction between youth and decision makers

• Developing existing democratic arenas to maximize the implementation of the will of the people

• Connecting new models of citizen input with the processes and stakeholders that influence the great issues of our common future
