Rafael era alguém que acreditava no Brasil e soube tomar a responsabilidade de aproveitar as oportunidades criadas pelo governo PT, ousou sonhar para além do destino historicamente traçado para os menos privilegiados deste país. Que sua vida, que seus sonhos, que seu trabalho tenham power is no longer expressed by the quantity but
by the quality of their actions and should not be judged and condemned through the criteria of old politics (“there is no project,” “there is no organisation,” “there is no leadership” etc.). Lack of unity is not a defect or flaw to be corrected, but should be perceived as the fertile force of plurality.
Instead of being passively carried away or desperately struggling against great waves, resisting means to explore the energy of high waves and experiment with different moves. The wave of the moment is the criminalisation of new forms of protest and political actions. The new protesters are artists and surfers: they have to create by themselves the pathways that will enable the creation of transitional (non- institutionalised) spaces of freedom of thinking. The convergence of poetry, philosophy and politics is more radically manifested in the body, because the body is the battleground par excellence of the contemporary world. Our body is our politics and also our art, a space where old prejudices can be deeply-rooted, it is true, but also where new values can emerge: aesthetic, ethical and political. But all is not lost, because, according to Foucault: “where there is power, there is resistance.”

wILL we Be CRIMe? is dedicated to Rafael Neris, who was murdered by the Military Police of Rio in June 2015, and to all those like him, like us. Rafael was someone who believed in Brazil and learned how to be responsible and take advantage of the opportunities created by the Workers’ Party (PT) government; he dared to dream beyond the destiny that was historically forged for the less privileged of this country. That his life, that his dreams, that his work have been brutally destroyed by the

FOMOs POesIA e FILOsOFIA... seReMOs CRIMe? gerou um curta assinado em parceria por Charles Feitosa, Renato Rezende e Vinicius Nascimento, que intercala imagens das ações que promovemos na cidade do Rio de Janeiro entre março e abril de 2016 (intervenções em espaços públicos, especialmente durantes manifestações de rua e protestos – como o protesto na frente do Fórum do Rio de Janeiro pedindo a libertação de Rafael Braga), da visita/entrevista que fizemos aos alunos que ocupavam a escola estadual Visconde de Cairu, no Méier, e trechos de entrevistas que fizemos com o professor e poeta Eduardo Sterzi, a ativista e filósofa Camila Jourdan, o jurista Rubens Casara, o estudante e ativista Ian Caetano, a professora e co-fundadora do “Tortura Nunca Mais” Cecília Coimbra, o advogado e ativista Gustavo Proença e Rosana Macedo, viúva de Rafael Neris, assassinado pela PM carioca em 2015, e a quem dedicamos o trabalho. Outros Registros é uma instalação sonora
imersiva que aborda criticamente o impacto da violência policial no período em que nossa cidade é destaque internacional, devido aos Jogos Olímpicos. Criado com dados de segurança pública, uma paisagem sonora é o ponto focal do trabalho, acompanhado de um modelo do caveirão, que transforma simbolicamente um instrumento da violência num instrumento musical.
Other Registers is an immersive sound installation
which deals critically with the impact of police violence in the period in which our city is receiving international attention due to the Olympics. Created with public security data, a soundscape is the focal point of the work, accompanied by a model of a caveirão (a type of armoured personnel carrier used by the military police in Rio), symbolically turning an instrument of violence into a musical instrument.
