CCS:
• a CCSLT do efetivo aumentou de 2007 para 2008;
• ao longo do ano de 2007, as proporções mensais de vacas infetadas aumentaram;
• entre janeiro de 2007 e janeiro de 2009, as percentagens mensais de vacas com IIM crónicas aumentaram;
• eficácia da terapêutica de secagem: a situação piorou de 2007 para 2008, isto é, as percentagens de vacas nos grupos «alta/alta» e «baixa/alta» aumentaram.
Mastites clínicas:
• as taxas de mastites e de recorrência foram ligeiramente mais elevadas em 2008 do que em 2007;
• o período entre 1 de janeiro e 16 de março do ano de 2009 foi o que apresentou piores resultados em termos de taxa de mastites, percentagem do efetivo afetado e taxa de recorrência;
• a IMédMC por mês foi igual em 2007 e em 2008;
• em 2007 e em 2008, a IMC por lactação aumentou com o aumento do número de lactações, à exceção da transição da 3.ª para a 4.ª lactação;
• em 2008, a IMC por períodos de lactação de 60 dias foi mais elevada nos primeiros 60 dias e, posteriormente, foi diminuindo com o decorrer da lactação.
Culturas microbiológicas:
• as espécies e/ou os géneros de micro-organismos isolados, tanto de casos de mastite subclínica como de clínica, foram os mesmos Os agentes etiológicos mais frequentemente isolados de ambos os tipos de mastite foram Streptococcus uberis e SCN;
• em amostras de leite provenientes de casos de mastite clínica de grau II isolaram-se sobretudo bactérias de Gram positivo, enquanto nas de grau III foram, predominantemente, bactérias de Gram negativo;
Estudo caso-controlo: relação entre a CCS de casos e de controlos:
• a média da CCS dos casos foi mais elevada do que a dos controlos. No entanto, as diferenças observadas apenas foram estatisticamente significativas (p<0,05) para as última e penúltima CCS antes do diagnóstico de mastite clínica.
