Os dados apresentados neste trabalho permitem concluir que:
- A inibição seletiva do TNF-α com a utilização do infliximabe promove uma inibição dos parâmetros inflamatórios estudados (atividade de MPO, nível tecidual de IL-1 e expressão de iNOS) na mucosite intestinal experimental induzida por irinotecano;
- A utilização do infliximabe, apesar de promover inibição dos parâmetros inflamatórios avaliados, não foi capaz alterar a sobrevida e de proteger contra as alterações funcionais na mucosite intestinal por irinotecano em camundongos.
