Økt kvalitet på smågrishjørnet påvirket ikke bruken av hjørnet. Antakelsen om at den an-tatt beste kvaliteten på smågrishjørnet skulle bli mest brukt slo feil. Bruken av hjørnet påvirket heller ikke spedgristapet. Da kvaliteten på selve spedgrisplassen ikke utgjør for-skjell i bruken eller spedgristapet, vil det være naturlig å fokusere mer på utvikingen av fødebingen som helhet. Bingen må tilrettelegges slik at purka kan ta best mulig vare på sine grisunger, og at røkterens rutiner rundt grising kan gjennomføres på en lettvinn og effektiv måte.
