4 Theoretical Background

4.12 Global Response Analysis: statistical method

 Obteve-se três extratos brutos, ricos em polissacarídeos sulfatados de três macroalgas marinhas da ordem Dictyotales (Canistrocarpus cervicornis, Dictyota mertensii e Dictyopteris delicatula);

 Os extratos brutos apresentaram atividade anticoagulante e antioxidante apreciável, com maior destaque para aquele obtido a partir de Canistrocarpus cervicornis.

 Obteve-se seis frações polissacarídicas da alga Canistrocarpus cervicornis que foram nomeadas como CC-0.3, CC-0.5, CC-0.7, CC-1.0, CC-1.2 e CC-2.0.

 Os dados da composição monossacarídica das frações polissacarídicas, indicaram que a alga Canistrocarpus cervicornis sintetiza um complexo sistema de polissacarídeos sulfatados formado por glucuronofucanas, encontradas em CC-0.3, CC-0.5, CC-0.7 e CC-1.0, e glucuronogalactofucanas, encontradas em CC-1.2 e CC-2.0.

 As frações CC-0.3, CC-0.5, CC-0.7 e CC-1.0 foram capazes de dobrar o aPPT com apenas 0,1 mg/mL de plasma, um resultado similar ao obtido pela Clexane®. Além disso, CC-0.7 e CC-1.0 apresentaram as mais proeminentes atividades anticoagulantes.

 Todas as frações apresentaram apreciável capacidade antioxidante total, boa eficiência em sequestrar o ânion superóxido (exceto CC-1.0) e excelente competência em quelar íons de ferro (exceto CC-0.3).

 Com tão expressivas e concomitantes atividades antioxidante e anticoagulante, estas heterofucanas, principalmente CC-0.7 e CC-1.2, foram identificadas como promissores fármacos multipotentes.
