No presente trabalho foi observado que os genes que codificam as subunidades de 17 e 27 kDa da SBTX são ambos induzidos por fatores biótico e abiótico, porém apresentando perfis de expressão diferenciados, prevalecendo a indução da subunidade maior da toxina. Esses dados complementam aqueles obtidos por nosso grupo de pesquisa, colocando a SBTX no patamar das proteínas relacionadas à defesa, ativa contra pragas.
