Research funding – Finnish Academy

• Mineral resources and alternative materials –programme in preparation.

• Targeted call: Primary mineral resources (DL 18.12.2013 / few M€).

• The main call within the programme will open in 2014 (~10 M€?)

Stakeholder panel – Sitra (The Finnish Innovation Fund / non-governmental organization)

• Stakeholder -panel is in preparation. Panel will act as a platform for dialogue between the mineral industry and it´s stakeholders. Sitra facilitates the platform and supports the formation of common procedures for agreement making and exhange of associated best practices.

• Project has started in late 2013. More information will be available in early 2014 (www.sitra.fi)

Ore production in the Nordic countries has been growing strongly for the past four years, and Stockholm based Raw Materials Group (RMG) expects this growth to continue until 2020
