Liveability and business attractiveness in urban transformation

The aim of the project

This project is more than anything meant to stimulate the sensation and awareness of liveability in transformation

areas for all inhabitants and visitors in everyday life in small and medium sized Nordic towns.

We chose that because the vibrant daily life goes hand in hand with a strong economy and because we have seen countless examples of well designed but lifeless cities.

VISION QUESTIONS 1

 Rekreation i stadsmiljö, jfr Central Park.

VAD ÄR DET VI INTE VILL SKA HÄNDA?

 Inte bara bostäder

 Inte fortsatt enfunktionsområde

 Inte ett isolerat område

 Inte en fortsättning på Arenastaden

(47)

VISION QUESTIONS 2

• You know what matters..

• We

4

A common Nordic strategy for attractive and inclusive urban environments (on

assignment)

(51)

What is the benefit?

• Most of the problems are similar

• People in Salo are also shaking their fists of the number of parking spaces, forgetting to discuss the main points.

• Significant strengthening of professional discussion and networking within the entire group

• Opportunity to get to know with the details and characteristics of those towns, which was otherwise unlikely to happen.

• We have bonded and created a unique group of friends, that is determined to keep working together.

Weaknesses

• Administration and could have been better.

• Most things took longer time and were more work than we thought.

Hard work ????

(54)

We carry a lot of responsibility, but welcome it with professionalism.

Our work will leave footprints, just hopefully not many carbon footprints...
