Aktivitetsnivå hos personer med psykose:

Schizophrenia Research, Jan. 2016

Brendon Stubbs, Julie Williams, Fiona Gaughran, Tom Craig

How sedentary are people with psychosis?

A systematic review and meta-analysis.

13 studier inkludert i denne første meta- analysen

(3)

Hva fant de i denne første meta-analysen? (1)

Stubbs et al 2016

 13 studier

 2033 personer (gj.sn. alder 41,3 år, 25,1 – 60)

 63,2 5 menn

 BMI gj.sn. 28,7 (25,9-32,1) Objektive mål i 7 studier

Selvrapportering i 6 studier, i 5 av dem IPAQ SF

(International Physical Activity Questionnaire, Short Form)

(4)

Hva fant de i denne første meta-analysen? (2)

(Results compared with Bondi ‘Keeping Body in Mind’ (KBIM) Programme (Curtis et al, EIP, 2015)

(19)

SHAPE 12 WEEK OUTCOMES (N=27):

Mean weight, BMI and waist circumference for

group held constant (typically would expect these to increase without intervention)

13 maintained baseline weight

7 decreased weight (2-7kg)

7 increased weight (2-9.6kg)

Only 1/7 exceeded weight gain guidelines of <7kg in 12 weeks

Results compare favourably with only published study of a similar intervention programme in

Australia (Curtis et al 2015)

(20)

SHAPE 12 MONTHS OUTCOMES (N=8)

 5.9 cm mean reduction in waist circumference

 Mean weight, BMI and other risk indicators held constant (typically would expect these to increase without intervention)

 Positive impact on healthy lifestyle behaviours:

* 4 reported eating healthier (eating 5 fruits and vegetables per day)

* 2 ceased substance use

* 1 ceased alcohol use -

* 3 were less sedentary (>90 minutes per week)

SIMPAQ

is a 5-item clinical tool designed to assess physical activity among populations at high risk of

sedentary behaviour. A multinational validation
