4.2 Distribuert HBV-modell

Comparando-se duas alternativas para o tratamento de síncope vasovagal, ou seja, o uso de fluoxetina (inibidor da recaptação de serotonina), e o treinamento físico moderado, sugere-se, analisando a recorrência de sintomas por doze semanas, que o treinamento físico tem um maior índice na diminuição dos sintomas. A atividade física é considerada benéfica para a saúde e também pode ser indicada para pessoas com síncope vasovagal como forma de tratamento. O exercício moderado, junto com o aumento da ingestão de água e sal, pode ser considerado um importante tratamento para pacientes com síncope vasovagal que ainda não experimentaram tratamento.

8.1 Limitações do estudo

Foi um estudo não randomizado, os pacientes foram escolhidos por conveniência, e a amostra foi pequena. O ideal seria o uso de um grupo controle, sem tratamento. Porém foi considerado inoportuno pelo grupo de pesquisadores, não indicar tratamento para os pacientes. Não foi avaliado se houve melhora no condicionamento físico dos pacientes, apesar de todos terem realizados os exercícios conforme a metodologia registrada.
